Managing data files
9.9 - Summary
The Generic ADAMO File is the central concept of the I/O file management system of ADAMO. A GAF contains records which contain tables or dataflows along with their data description. Differentiation between the records is through a GAF key which is essentially an ESet having descriptions of individual records as entities. Usage of GAFs in various formats is demonstrated by the ADAMO application eventrec.
The concepts introduced in this chapter are:
Generic ADAMO File (GAF)
The permanent storage medium of the ER data of ADAMO applications.
Key of a GAF
Essentially an ESet defined with the DDL having attributes that identify uniquely each record in a GAF.
