Chapter 3. Creating a dictionary

3.10 - Summary

Data models are rigorously defined with the machine readable Data Definition Language. From the DDL files containing the schema for a complete model, a compiled form of the data definition, or dictionary, is then produced. The dictionary may then be stored in a dictionary file and subsequently re-used. Dictionary reports of various types may be produced by the MAD. The concepts introduced in this chapter are:


Compiled form of data definition. Produced by the MAD from the DDL that defines the data structures for the data model.
